Description
This place value game will keep your 2nd grade students engaged in practicing place value skills. Students will add and subtract 10 and 100 using manipulatives to race to earn 1000 points. Your students will improve their mental math skills by playing this game and increasing their place value understanding with plenty of practice!
Included in this resource you will receive:
- Teacher & Student Instructions
- Game Board
- Game Cards
- Optional cut-out manipulative pieces
Second grade place value skills are made more understandable when students use concrete pieces. In this game each student receives a game board. In turn, each student picks up a card and adds or subtracts 0, 10, or 100 to their board. In the case that a student picks up a card that asks them to subtract more than they have on their board, they will not subtract ANY pieces. In the case that a student has ten of a given unit they will bundle them together and trade them in for the next unit up. For example, if they have ten tens, they will trade them in for a hundred flat. If they have ten one hundred flats, they will trade them in for 1000… and win!
