Description
As spring comes into swing, there’s always time for a fun math craft *that can serve as a secret assessment*! Your students will choose a 2 or 3 digit number and will show that number in a variety of formats, ultimately, creating a place value rainbow and pot of gold!
Your students will be practicing skills, you have an excellent opportunity for a formative assessment and at the end of the day you will have a beautiful math bulletin board. This craftivity is a win-win for teachers and students.
This resource is also part of a place value craft bundle so that you can monitor your students’ progress and keep your seasonal bulletin boards in top condition all year!
Two versions of the craft template have been included. One version is truly print & go with zero prep needed. Your students will color in their rainbow with crayons or markers before assembling. The second version has template pieces separated so that you can print them onto colored paper.
The Place Value Rainbow & Pot of Gold Reviews:
- Standard Form
- Word Form
- Expanded Form
- Unit Form
- Place Value Drawings
- 1/10 More and Less
- Even & Odd
A place value planning sheet has also been included so that your students are able to plan out their rainbow and pot of gold math craft before committing to their final product. **You can even collect these planning pages as a quick assessment!**
And remember, follow my store so you will be updated when new resources are added! I list many products on sale for the first 24 hours!

This St. Patrick’s Day math craft is a fun way to reinforce place value skills while adding festive flair to your classroom. Students build leprechaun- or gold coin-themed crafts that showcase their understanding of tens and ones (or hundreds, depending on level). It doubles as both a creative activity and a quick assessment—perfect for March math centers or bulletin boards!
